1、丹参:主活血化瘀,适合心脉淤阻、痘症者
2、党参:主补中气,适合脾胃虚弱、中气不足者

5、玄参:主养肾阴,还能清热凉血,脾胃虚寒者不适药性寒凉

7、太子参:主补气养阴,偏于补气,适合脾肺气阴虚者,药性较平和

Danshen (Salvia root):
Promotes blood circulation and removes blood stasis.
Suitable for those with blocked heart vessels or acne problems. -
Dangshen (Codonopsis root):
Tonifies the middle and replenishes Qi.
Suitable for those with weak spleen and stomach or Qi deficiency. -
Renshen (Ginseng root):
Strongly replenishes vital Qi.
Suitable for those who are physically weak, Qi deficient, or recovering from long illness. -
Shashen (Adenophora or Glehnia root):
Nourishes Yin and generates body fluids, moistens the lungs, and stops cough.
Suitable for those with both lung Qi and Yin deficiency. -
Xuanshen (Scrophularia root):
Nourishes kidney Yin and clears heat, cools the blood.
Not suitable for those with weak spleen and stomach due to its cold nature. -
Hongshen (Red Ginseng):
Tonifies Yang Qi.
Suitable for those with cold limbs and Yang deficiency.
It is made by steaming Ginseng, making it warmer in nature than raw Ginseng. -
Taizishen (Pseudostellaria root):
Tonifies Qi and nourishes Yin, slightly mild in nature.
Suitable for those with spleen and lung Qi-Yin deficiency. -
Xiyangshen (American Ginseng):
Tonifies Qi and nourishes Yin, but compared to Asian Ginseng, it’s more Yin-nourishing and cooling.
Known as the “fire-free ginseng” — it clears internal heat and doesn’t cause overheating.
